Stroke is a medical condition, wherein the blood circulation to the brain is interrupted resulting in death of brain cells. This can occur in two circumstances, viz. Ischemic and Hemorrhagic. An ischemic stroke happens due to the lack of blood flow to the brain. On the other hand, bleeding is the cause of Hemorrhagic stroke. A doctor will examine the patient extensively for understanding the exact cause of stroke and provide ayurvedic treatment for Stroke. The treatment method and medications will be based on the confirmation whether it is Ischemic or Hemorrhagic.
Hemiplegia is the commonest manifestation of a stroke with neurological deficit affecting the face, limbs and trunk on one side or either side of the body.In Ayurveda, it can be co-related with pakshaghata. When vata gets aggravated, it dries up the srotas and snayu (nerves, blood vessels and tendons) of the body and makes the part incapable of functioning and causes loss of sensation.
